Safety measures when driving
Do you love to push the limits of your car's speed? While driving your performance automobile can be exhilarating, endangering other drivers on the road and risking serious fines are not sacrifices you want to make in your search for such excitement. However, the good news is, there are many safe and legal ways to indulge that lead foot of yours. So, if you've wanted to find out what your car can really do, consider some of the private racing schools held throughout the country.
With the ever-growing horsepower of stock cars today, there has been an ever-growing need to use it. This has led to a rise in many professionally run racing schools, meant to allow you to let those horses gallop - safely. Not only will such weekend events let you feed some speed to your ride, they will teach you how to become a better driver in doing so. Most schools are conducted on converted racetracks, which are now privately held. Some have even previously been part of the prestigious NASCAR circuit. There are even racing schools run by NASCAR celebrities which will allow you to drive on a current circuit track, albeit in the off season. Some of these will give you the option to drive your own vehicle, or rent on actual stock car to use for the day.
How will you stay safe will hitting top speed? You will be issued an instructor who will ride along with you in the car every moment you are behind the wheel. They will teach you how to navigate the course safely, and for the more advanced drivers, they will show you techniques to shave seconds off your speed around the track. Additionally, you will be required to wear a safety helmet with neck brace, and if you are driving in a provided stock car, you will also be required to don a fire suit. All such driving courses must be insured through the state, and are therefore actually classified as driving schools rather than racing lessons. This means that many auto insurers will actually give you discounts off your policy for attending such schools!
For those who have a little more experience with high speed driving, there are many schools which offer advanced "races." While they are not termed such for insurance purposes, that is precisely what they are in actual experience. You will be able to pit your skills against other aggressive drivers at top speed, with the best driver coming out on top. Be aware however, that all damage incurred during such events is the sole responsibility of you, the driver. This means that if you wreck your car, you will be footing the entirety of the bill (or perhaps your insurance will be). Also, you are liable for any damage you inflict upon the raceway itself, so you cannot throw caution completely to the wind. However, with the right amount of caution and the right mix of speed, you will be set up for a weekend that will leave all its competition in the dust!
