Koenigsegg Agera R
Koenigsegg Agera R is a new hyper rcar manufactured by Koenigsegg company of Sweden. The name Agera means to act in Swedish. the Agera R has come to act on setting new records for supercars in terms of control, handling, comfort, practicality, sheer driving enjoyment and most importantly set new speed records. Besides the Agera R being a beautiful car, it is also balanced, compact and muscular. In general, the Agera R has all features and functionalities of the Agera which is an earlier model, but also includes few unique solutions to improve performance even further.
Koenigsegg Agera R is powered by a twin turbo 5.0 liters V8 engine and its fuel systems allows flow capacity to generate 1,115 horsepower and 1,200 Newton meters of torque on E85 and E100 bio fuel. Bio fuels contain less energy content per volume compared to petrol. Although the Agera R can also run on normal petrol, its bio fuel system has to manage a flow similar to 2000 petrol horsepower, making this car to have the highest capacity of any car currently in production. There is also an R version of Koenigsegg Agera R, for countries that do not have E85 or E100 readily available. This version uses non bio fuel and has to be run on a minimum of 98 octane fuel. It has also been optimized to produce an output of 1,050 horsepower and 1,140 Newton meters of torque. Agera R turbines are made from latest technology of turbine material called Gamma-Ti, which is an inter-metallic compound consisting of Aluminum and titanium. Gamma-Ti reduces the sluggishness of turbine wheel and axle resulting to improved response.
Agera R version comes with a standard triplex rear suspension, therefore, its spring and shock absorber are connected to the right and left back wheel. This type of connection has many benefits since both back wheels can manipulate each other whenever you want. For instance, the extra spring and damper works in sequence with normal spring and dampers, enabling their rates to be lowered. This increases the comfort and better handling on rough and wet surfaces.
Koenigsegg has also included a new dynamic rear wing on the Agera R, changing its angle of attack with the pressure of the wind. This makes it to be controlled by the speed or wind resistance at any time, therefore; compensating for headwind and tailwind at that particular time. The dynamic wing pylons act as extrusion channels. Air channels goes from the engine bay to the back of pylons generating an air pathway. This helps in reducing the temperature and pressure in the engine bay.
Agera R's speed is incredible. At first this R version would go from 0 to186 miles per hour in just 14.53 seconds and come to a complete halt just 6.66 seconds later. Koenigsegg later improved the R version, which can now go from 0 to 200 miles per hour just in 17.68 seconds and come to a complete stop 7.28 seconds later. This is believed to be a Guinness Book of world record speed set by the R version. This new record and the other key features of Koenigsegg Agera R makes it a unique hyper car that leaves a lot to be desired from this top speed car.
